Lots of fun was had on Friday, when our Maya topic culminated in a fabulous feast of Maya food and dancing.
We ate tortillas, sweetcorn, beans, guacamole and of course everyone's favourite, the chocolate pizzas we made in our workshop.
Some children were even brave enough to try some chilli tortillas!

3NL RE
In RE we expressed our emotions with the use of music.
Our friends had to guess which emotion we were trying to communicate.
Many of us were feeling amazed and shocked today at just how good we were!

3NL - PE / Pok-a-Tok !
Last week we had great fun playing the Mayan game of 'Pok-a-Tok' in PE.
The children felt the game was a cross between basketball and football.
However, nobody wanted to be on the losing side,as the losers were slaughtered as a sacrifice to the Mayan God Chacc! Or even worse your head was used as the ball....

Year 2 - Science - Living things and their habitats
In science this half term children in Year 2 have been learning about living things and their habitats.
We have been working scientifically by:
Classifying living things using MRS GREN to help us.
Naming habitats and animals and plants that live their.
Exploring mirco-habitats.
Identify simple food chains that are present in different habitats.
This week we went exploring around our school field looking for mini-beasts to help us understand more about micro-habitats.
We then created our own mini-beasts and today we created a habitat for them.
Here are some pictures which show some of our fantastic science work!
Year 2 - Book Look
This week the parents and carers of Year 2 were invited in to look at our wonderful books.

3NL Maths - Time to have fun!
In maths we are learning to tell the time to the nearest 5 minutes, past the hour.
We decided to make the most of the sunshine and play 'what's the time Mr Wolf?' outside in our lovely playground.

Year 6's Post-SATs Celebrations!
On Friday May
12th, year 6 celebrated the end of their SATs by taking a trip to the
Harvester restaurant, and to Harrow Lodge Park!
After working
their socks off for the past few months, Year 6 richly deserved a treat, and
Suttons Primary School was happy and proud to take them for and all-you-can-eat
breakfast buffet!
The most
popular item on the menu was, by far, the American-style pancakes; these were washed
down with liberal lashings of syrup! Many children ate fruit, as well as toast,
cereal and crumpets, and we all enjoyed a glass of juice as well.
Our waitress
for the morning was very impressed with Year 6’s behaviour – so much so, in
fact, that she agreed to our filming her telling the class. We are extremely
proud to show you this video of our kind Harvester waitress singing the praises
of the Suttons Primary School Year 6 class 2017:
After we had
eaten as much as we possibly could, and had finished helping to tidy away, we
went to use the equipment at Harrow Lodge Park. Most of the boys were engaged
in a high-intensity football match, while the others climbed as high as they
could up the climbing-frame, or sought to empty their recently-filled tummies
via the G-force exerted by the swings. Luckily nobody achieved this, and
eventually we headed home with our stomachs full and our heads crammed with
happy memories.
We at Suttons
would like to thank the Harvester for accommodating us, the class for behaving
so brilliantly, and most of all to all of the parents who have helped their
children so much with revision, tough love, a lot of support and
confidence-building. Thank you!
