Year 1 - Zoolab
To end our science topic on a 'wow' experience, year 1 were visited by Katie from Zoolab.
We took part in an animal handling workshop. Katie spoke to us about a variety of animals such as millipedes, cockroaches and frogs. We were then able to hold and stroke the animals if we wanted. We learned some new information during the visit as well as refreshing our knowledge of animals!

Awards Ceremony - Yellow class
Outstanding progress - Rooh
Rooh has been a pleasure to teach and has a kind and caring personality. He is always ready to learn and has grown in confidence more and more over the year. He has had some amazing support from home and exceeded several of the early learning goals! His literacy and maths skills are exceptional and beyond the expectation of a reception child! He counts to 1000 and beyond and even knows some of his times tables at 5 years old! Amazing Rooh! Fully deserved!

Jack is an irreplaceble member of the class- His personality is truly unique! I don't think a day has gone by where he hasn't made me laugh! His confidence has grown and he has a very positive attitude to learning. His mind is like a sponge and he takes in everything he learns in class and at home! Jack is a great friend to others and his knowledge and understanding of the world truly amazes me! You should be very proud of yourself Jack!

Year 1 - Grandparent's Afternoon
To end our topic 'What has changed since my grandparents were young?' on a 'wow' experience, year 1 invited their grandparents into school.
We took part in various activities during the afternoon so we could spend time with our grandparents as well as discussing how life was different when they were young. It was lovely meeting the grandparents and hearing the stories that they shared with us. The children thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
Thank you to all the grandparents, parents and elderly relatives/neighbours who joined us for the afternoon. A big thank you to all the LSAs who helped during the afternoon.
