3RS Jurassic Park Adventure!

 

3RS have been working extremely hard with their Jurassic Park creations! 

So much so..... they have been sent off to Hollywood superstars Chris Pratt and Steven Spielberg who were both involved in the remakes (and for Spielberg's case the originals) of the Jurassic World franchise! 

The children were investigating prehistoric times and we got incredibly interested in dinosaurs! The children could discuss lots of information about different types of dinosaurs and were creative enough to create their own dinosaur!

But their next challenge was were could their dinosaur live- to them the answer was simple; create a habitat fit for their dinosaur, add some details and bingo! Our Jurassic Park adventure was born! Once bound they are being sent off to Hollywood via Royal Mail!

 

I am optimistic of a reply from Hollywood! But understand that there is some other important things going on in the world. But the children know their work is being sent to Hollywood and I am immensely proud of them. There was a slight delay in the book being bound and sent- there was so much good work I needed to hunt for bigger spins so I could fit all the incredible work in! 

Once again, I must say I am incredibly proud of all the children and their hard work. An example below is just a snippet of what fantastic work is being sent to Hollywood!

Year 2DK- Big Write

I absolutely love teaching big write in 2DK. After such a long time since children have written in the classroom I have been SUPER impressed with Year 2’s big writes this half term. 

Children have been retelling fairy tales and writing some brilliant explanation texts. 

I can’t wait to see more of your fabulous writing next term and throughout the rest of the year.

4JI Predicting in Shared Reading

The next book we are reading in Shared Reading is a book called 'Kensuke's Kingdom' by Michael Morpurgo. As a task, we were only allowed to read the blurb, and look at the front cover, and from this we had to try and predict what the whole story was about! Some of us covered 2 whiteboards worth of predicting, which was so in depth that Miss Irvine just had to take pictures and put them on the blog!

Suttons News - Read all about it!

Over the last few weeks 12 children from Year 4 and Year 5 have been working very hard creating Suttons very first newspaper! Children have been working with Mr Stone a community officer from WHU foundation.

On Friday the newspaper was finally ready and  the newspaper team were able to give them out! They were not defeated by the rain the team gave them out very enthusiastically! We even sold out!!

Lots of people were keenly reading it as they left school and we've had some very positive feedback from students, parents and teachers!
