Year 6 Have Been Enjoying Maths Week!

Today, Year 6 took their Maths lesson outside!









We completed a series of challenges about maths in the natural world, including estimating and measuring distance, creating repeating patterns, making 3D shapes from materials we found in the playground/field, and angles found in nature...












In the afternoon, we enjoyed a session with the Mathmagician, David Hall, where we learned about many amazing mathematical discoveries throughout history. Below, you can see some of the boys demonstrating how the ancient Egyptians created right-angles, using the 3 x 4 x 5 technique:
