On Friday 9th June for Maths day, Year 4 completed various cross curricular activities.
One of the activities was a Maths Trail. The children had to locate 16 questions placed around the playground. Each answer related to a letter in the alphabet and once all 16 questions were completed the children would discover a secret message!
After break year 4 investigated the question 'Do taller people have longer feet?'
We measured our heights and the length of our right foot and put the results into a table. We then plotted the results into a scatter graph. We learned that taller people do not always have the longest feet!
We linked Maths and Art and created our own tessellations. A tessellation is an arrangement of shapes closely fitted together in a repeated pattern without gaps or overlapping. Here are some of our tessellations!
