Intergenerational Project Launch Assembly
We are excited to announce that this week we have
started the Intergenerational Project. We have five lovely ladies, and
volunteers, who are booked to come in to work with some nursery and reception
children on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
This exciting new project will bring older adults
into school with the aim of building better relationships between young and old
people. Many of you will have direct experience of older relatives or friends
who are suffering from isolation, depression and early dementia and know how
they benefit from regular interaction with others. We also know that many of
our children love adult attention; this project will develop their
communication skills.
We would like
to invite interested nursery and reception parents to our launch
assembly on Thursday 30th
January at 2.30 pm. You can find out more about the project, meet members
of Havering Memory Service and talk to our volunteers.
