Last Thursday, Year 4 visited Colchester Castle. We were able to visit the city that used to be the capital of England, 'Camulodunum', and one of the three cities that Boudicca burnt down in her rage against the Romans.
Whilst inside the museum we had the opportunity to see Roman armour, the prisons, and recovered Roman artefacts such as doctor's tools and coins.
We also had the chance to build an Iron Age Roundhouse and a Roman Villa which was lots of fun! After that, we were taken down some steep steps and into the foundations of the castle that was built for Claudius, where we learnt lots of interesting facts about Boudicca and the Romans!
All in all, we had a fantastic day! And a great singalong on the coach on the way back! :)
