As part of Science Week, Year 4 experimented with static electricity, and pretended we all had powers like Matilda, by using the static electricity from the balloons to lift up newts made from tissue paper. The children absolutely loved this experiment, and were really rather shocked that it had worked!
Afterwards, the children then experimented with different materials to see which were conductors and which were insulators. This included attaching crocodile clips to door handles, coins and even borrowing Miss Irvine's jewellery to see if it worked!
