European Day Of Languages - Year 2DK / Year 6MB

On Saturday 26th September it was European day of languages.

European Languages day celebrates and promotes language learning and linguistic diversity.

Did you know that there are more than 200 European languages alone. Plus many other languages spoken in Europe.

Learning languages helps you to:

-Make new friends

-Study and travel abroad

-Understand different cultures

In Year 2, children learnt how to say ‘Hello’ in different European Languages. Some of the children taught the how to say ‘Hello’ in language they also speak in.

Mellina taught us how to say Hello in Portuguese.

Rooh taught us how to say Hello in Spanish.

Aaban taught us how to say Hello in Pakistan.

Agastya taught us how to say Hello in Tamil.

Patrick taught us how to Hello in Romanian.

In Year 6, some of the students taught the class how to say words and phrases in a language they also speak.

Issac taught us some phrases in French.

Danai taught us how to say some words in Greek.

Austeja taught us some words in Lithuanian.

Aidan and Mason taught us some words in Persian.

And Feyme taught us some Polish words.

It was fun and really interesting to learn words and phrases in different languages from our classmates.

A huge thank you to all the students who shared their talents with me and their class.
