Yellow class- Why it's important to wash your hands

Yellow class learnt about how washing our hands is the best way to stop germs from spreading. We thought about all of the things that we touched today — from pencils and toys to the toilet and door handles. Maybe we blew our nose in a tissue and then went outside to dig around the dirt.
Whatever we did today, we came into contact with germs. It's easy for a germ on our hand to end up in our mouth. We thought about how many foods we eat with our hands. We can't wear rubber gloves all day long, but we can wash our hands so those germs don't get a chance to make us or someone else sick.
Have a look at the science experiment we did today that involved pepper (germs), water and soap. When liquid soap is added to pepper and water, the pepper moves away from the soap just like using soap removes germs from your hands.
