Hansel and Gretel at the Royal Opera House

Yesterday year five and a few children from year six went to the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden to watch a performance of Hansel and Gretel. We felt very lucky to get the tickets and will always remember this special trip.

We began with a workshop which taught us more about opera and the story.
The opera was composed by Engelbert Humperdinck. We learnt some songs and some dance moves!
The inside of the Royal Opera House is stunning. Some groups even got to sit in the boxes.

The performance was fantastic. We felt really lucky that we were able to see such a wonderful show. Although all the singing was in German, we were able to understand as a translation was displayed above the stage. We loved how this version of the story included characters from other Fairy Stores, such as Rumplestiltskin, Snow White, Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood.
