For the next fortnight, students at Suttons Primary
School will be lucky enough to have workshops on the traditional music of
Indonesia: gamelan!
This week, Year 6 was able to have a go at playing a
range of percussive instruments, creating and following a beat, as well as
having a go at some traditional scarf-dancing!
The instruments we played sounded as beautiful as they
looked, and thanks to our Music lessons with Mr Jones, we were able to stick to
the beat and hold the rhythm. The dance moves we learned will no doubt be
useful at the next school disco!
