Children in Need 2019

On Friday 15th November, Suttons Primary School took part in the annual Children in Need charity event. The children and staff dressed in spotty clothes and donated £1.

Also to raise as much money as possible for Children in Need, some of the children and staff took part in the 'Guess the name of the bear' competition. They donated £1 to guess the name of the bear.

There were some brilliant names suggested for the white, fluffy bear such as marshmallow, cuddles and spotty.

However, the winning name was Snowy! The name was guessed correctly by 2 children who won the bear along with some sweets.

Thank you to everyone for your kind donations and as a school we have raised £458.92 for Children in Need.

In literacy 2NL have been studying poetry

The children rehearsed, practised and then performed the poem Don't Call Alligator....

They had to think about using expression, intonationactions and volume of voice.

                               They all performed brilliantly.

2NL - Coronation Party

To finish our TOPIC on 'How life has changed since Queen Elizabeth came to the throne,' 2NL had a Coronation Day.

First, we designed some healthy sandwiches thinking about including all of our food groups.

Next, we made our sandwiches.

Then, we evaluated our designs and presentation of our plates of food.

After that, we had a class vote to see who would be King or Queen. Florence decided to abdicate. Heidi was next in line along with Charlie and we had a coronation ceremony were they were crowned King and Queen
They made lots of rules for the class and Mrs Lacey to follow!

Finally, we ate our food, danced and played games at the 2NL Coronation Party.
