Who is Vincent Van Gogh? Year 1
Year 1 were introduced to the artist Vincent Van Gogh as part of the Take One Picture Project.
The classroom was set up as an art gallery and the children walked around observing the different paintings by Van Gogh. We spoke the colours in the paintings and our favourite paintings.
But which painting was the focus for our project?
Year 1 were given a Van Gogh painting that was cut up into 6 pieces. Working with their group, they had to put the pieces together to work out which painting we would be focusing on for the next 2 weeks.
Harvest Festival
On Friday 18th October, Suttons Primary celebrated the Harvest Festival.
Every class brought in food/other items to donate to Harold Hill food bank. Thank you very much for your kind donations.
The children and staff also dressed in autumnal colours such as yellow, orange, brown and maroon.
As part of the celebrations, each year group took part in a Harvest trail.
Key stage 2 children had to answer questions about Harvest and work out the secret message.
Key Stage 1 and Early years had to hunt around the playground to find the fruit and vegetables on their list.

3JI Yoga and Mindfulness Session
Thank you very much to Beryl who gave us a really interesting and calming mindfulness session on a rainy Monday morning! The children enjoyed it enormously and demonstrated how peaceful they can be!
3JI Magnet Finding!
As part of our topic of Forces and Magnets, 3JI experimented with magnets and what it would attract around the room. There was a lot of confusion as to why it would stick to some metal objects but not others. The class were particularly shocked at the fact the magnet stuck to a part of the wall!
