School Council Meeting: 7/5/19
School Council
Meeting: 7/5/19
Voting Day
Idea
Last week in
school council, we talked about British values, and how people vote. Some of
the ideas we had for the school to vote on were:
·
Megan
and Harry’s baby name
·
Favourite
lesson
·
Which
year group should go in first for lunch
·
A
school council president, where we put posters up for the week and have a vote
on who we think should lead.
We narrowed it
down and came out with a vote for non-uniform day which as we know, pyjama day
won with most votes which will be this Friday.

Year 6 have been working tirelessly over the last few weeks revising for their Year 6 SATs. All week the children in Year 6 have been tested on their reading, mathematical and grammar skills. Today as a reward for all their hard work and effort Year 6 had a lovely breakfast and a morning playing at the park.
Well done Year 6!

Suttons Primary School Voting Day
To promote the British Values statements of 'Democracy' and 'The Rule of Law', Suttons Primary School took part in a voting day.
The children were given 3 themes to choose between for our next dress down day which will be on Friday 24th May.
The 3 themes were:
-Rainbow day (wear as many colours as possible)
- Wear your school uniform inside out
- Pyjama Day
The voting took place on Friday 10th May. The children walked into a 'booth' which had a ballot box and ballot paper.
The children thoroughly enjoyed voting for their favourite theme. Results will be announced in Monday's assembly.
A big thank you to Mr Willis for his help during the voting.
Which theme do you think will win?
British Heart Foundation - Jump Rope Day
On Thursday 11th April, Suttons Primary took part in the 'Jump Rope for Heart' day to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. The children and staff dressed in sports clothing and spent some time during the day to practise their skipping skills! As a school we raised £216.86 for the British Heart Foundation. Thank you for all of your donations!

2NL - Dead or Alive?!
For science, we are studying about living things and their habitats.
First we sorted items into their different categories - living, dead and never been alive.
After, we went exploring outside to find our own items.
Do you know which category our items fall into?
Living, then Dead
Never Been Alive .
4JI's Acting Skills
Taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine, 4JI decided to re-enact a play that they have been reading in Literacy recently, in order to get to know the characters better before they re-write the play from other characters perspectives.
Needless to say, they were extremely enthusiastic and had lots of fun too!
