Year 2 - Oh Gnome!

In our literacy and language lessons year 2 we have been reading a play script called 'Oh Gnome!' Children had to recreate parts of the play using freeze frames.

Children got into role and displayed some amazing freeze frames! After we discussed what the characters would be feeling, saying and thinking during those moments in the story. It helped us identify with and explore the characters and moments in the story.

Year 2 - We are scientists!

On Friday Year 2 had a science lesson in our brand new DT room. It was taught be a specialist science teacher which was very exciting!

Mr Gentle had a problem. He didn't know which material to use to mop up spills in our new school. He asked Year 2 if they could help find out which material would be best.

Children were presented with a range of materials and scientific equipment. They had to work scientifically to investigate which material would be best to soak up the water from the tables.
Children came to their own conclusions and will be presenting Mr Gentle with the results this week.
